Eligibility for citizenship varies between different countries in Europe, today there are dozens of countries that allow citizenship. In general, those who resided or whose immediate family members were residing in some European countries are eligible for citizenship.

Certainly, descendants of those who lived in Austria or Germany in the relevant years are entitled to European citizenship without generational restrictions, Same for descendant of Libyan Jew. In addition, minor descendants of a parent who holds Portuguese citizenship are also entitled to citizenship.

It depends on the specific country: in Israel there is no prohibition on holding multiple additional citizenships, but certain countries do not allow this, and therefore the case must be examined on its merits.

Spouses are entitled to European citizenship by virtue of their spouse’s citizenship only if they have resided in a particular European country for a few years and in accordance with the laws of that country. However, spouses of Portuguese and Italian citizens are also entitled to citizenship without the need to reside in Europe.

Today, after the change in the law, only minor children (under the age of 18) and spouse (under certain condition) of Portuguese national are entitled to Portuguese citizenship.

Certainly, if they lived in Austria between 1933-1955, all their descendants are entitled to Austrian citizenship without generational restrictions as longas they resided in Austria for at least a year.
